Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer – Project Lead
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Project Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing mechanical engineering tasks for complex projects, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring the successful execution of design and engineering tasks from start to finish. This position requires a proactive, results-driven professional with experience in mechanical design, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the Engineering team and Project Managers (PMs), Material Managers (MMPs), and other project stakeholders.
- Create and manage the initial project structure in Teamcenter, including distribution of documents and coordination with project teams.
- Participate in Sales Kick-off Meetings (KOM), working closely with the Project Manager, Sales team, MMP, and Offer Engineer.
- Review project technical specifications, proposals, and sales estimates, ensuring all requirements are clarified and aligned with project objectives.
- Develop General Arrangement Drawings for crane designs and perform steel structure calculations using KC Gantry and supporting engineering tools.
- Create Subcontracted Engineering Work Orders and manage coordination of design tasks.
- Lead Engineering KOMs with the design team, communicate project scope, and ensure clear understanding of technical specifications.
- Manage project engineering hours, schedules, and ensure timely delivery of tasks using ERMS.
- Maintain and update Project Engineering Schedules in ERMS, ensuring project milestones are met.
- Coordinate and manage third-party electro-mechanical component specifications and vendor interactions.
- Approve drawings, crane designs, and EBOMs in TeamCenter, ensuring accuracy and adherence to engineering standards.
- Organize and schedule Electrical Coordination Meetings, addressing all necessary follow-ups to resolve open issues.
- Oversee change management processes, ensuring smooth communication and coordination of design changes.
- Develop and maintain design standards, engineering best practices, and process improvements.
- Provide transportation and erection drawings as needed, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
- Track and address engineering quality issues, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure final documents, calculations, and deliverables are submitted to the PM, with all relevant files stored in TeamCenter.
- Stay up to date with industry standards and regulations, including CMAA, AWS, OSHA, and ASCE guidelines.
- Provide ongoing warranty support as required for completed projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Extensive experience in mechanical engineering design and project management, preferably in crane or heavy equipment industries.
- Proficiency with Teamcenter and other engineering software tools.
- Strong understanding of technical specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
